Enter them into our annual photo contest and you could win big:

Third Place: $100
You know we love pictures of the lake, but we also want to see photos of the people, activities and scenery that weave together your Lake Chelan traditions!
Ready to enter? Here are some fun photography tips to help you stand out in the competition.
1. Use lighting to your advantage.
Try to shoot early in the morning and late in the afternoon in order to avoid harsh sunlight. Not only will it help avoid awkward shadows on people’s faces, but on other important objects in the picture as well.
2. Don’t be afraid to get close.
Some of the best photos are taken by those that dare to move closer then other photographers. The best photographers are the ones that seek out photos that are normally unseen by the human eye.
3. Mix up your angles.
If you are willing to put in extra work to get the perfect shot, then climb a mountain, lay on the ground or go somewhere you normally wouldn’t and photograph at an angle you have never seen taken before.
4. Use the rule of thirds.
The rule of thirds works by splitting an image into thirds both horizontally and vertically, so you end up with 9 sections. If you place points of interest in the intersections or along the lines, your photo becomes more balanced and will enable a viewer of the image to interact with it more naturally.
Pull out those smart phone cameras, DSLRs or point-and-shoots and get to snapping. We are excited to see your talented work!
All photos must be submitted by November 30, 2017.
