5 Can’t-Miss Events for Your Lake Chelan Summer

Summer in the valley is finally here, and honestly, the calendar is looking packed. If you’re trying to figure out which weekends to make the trip, here are five big events that should definitely be on your radar.

1. Cycle Chelan (June 20)

There’s a route for everyone. Whether you want to grind out 100 miles on the Signature Challenge or just do a casual “Cycle di Vino” through the vineyards (e-bikes included!), the energy in town is awesome. And if you aren’t riding, it’s fun to hang out at the finish line and cheer people on. This year, lake ferries are included on every single route, giving you the opportunity to view Lake Chelan from the water.

2. Falling Cow Country Wine Festival (June 20)

If you happen to be in town for the bike races and haven’t heard the story of the falling cow, you must hit this festival in the afternoon. It’s held at Lake Chelan Winery and is basically a huge vineyard party. They have a mechanical bull, line dancing lessons, and live country music. It’s a great way to let loose and enjoy that classic Manson vibe with some BBQ, a glass of Falling Cow wine, and a story that will live on forever.

3. Lights Over the Lake (July 5) *NEW*

This is a brand-new event, and it will be an incredible show! To celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, a massive drone show will shine over the water at 10pm. Imagine hundreds of illuminated drones creating 3D shapes and telling stories in the night sky. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime show you won’t want to miss.

4. Lake Chelan Bach Fest (July 11–18)

Don’t let the name fool you, this isn’t strictly classical music in a quiet room. It’s a week-long celebration with “Pops in the Park” which includes some of your favorite movie tunes. As well as can’t-miss performances at local wineries and noon concerts to make your day a little brighter. Most of the events are free (though donations are great), and it’s a really relaxing way to spend summer days. The “Tango Cowboys” are kicking the festival off at the Riverwalk Pavilion on the 11th and you don’t want to miss these fan favorites.

5. Aces Wild Lake Chelan Pro Rodeo (July 17–18)

If you want to experience some classic summer entertainment, head over to the saddle club grounds on Union Valley Road. You get the full rodeo experience here including bull riders, bucking broncos, and roping demonstrations under the evening lights. Gates open around 5pm, so you can grab a burger, check out the vendors, and find a good seat before the action starts at 7:30pm. It’s loud, rowdy, and a ton of fun for the whole family.
