The Historic Downtown Chelan Association (HDCA) is one of the only 13 cities designated as a Washington State Main Street™. The mission of the Historic Downtown Chelan Association is to develop and promote the historic core of Chelan by creating an inviting and vibrant community center while emphasizing enhancement and preservation of the town’s historic features.
Riverwalk Park spans 12 acres along the Chelan River and includes a one-mile scenic river loop with shaded benches along the trail, picnic areas, grass playfield and great fishing holes.
At the Chelan Evening Farmer’s Market you’ll find the expected: tomatoes, peppers, herbs, plums, peaches, Chelan Evening Farmers Marketcherries, apples; the unexpected: hummus, goat cheese, lavender and other flowers; and the unusual: gooseberries, currants and wool. One of the many special aspects of shopping at farmer’s markets includes getting to know the farmers and vendors who work so hard to bring their beautiful offerings to market.
Farmer-focused for sure, but also so much more. Entertainment is offered at the market, including story time and activity table for children and music for everyone. A barn owl visits regularly, held by Debbie Barnett, Chelan’s own “bird-lady” to inspire and educate visitors. Nearby restaurants create fresh sheets out of the items vendors bring for the evening.
