The little gnomes that have become so popular in seasonal decorations all over the world originated in Sweden. These little bearded fellas are called Tomte and are known to be mischievous or generous depending on behavior. Over time they became the Swedish version of Santa Clause.
Stop by the Manson Chamber of Commerce on 145 Wapato Way Manson WA, and learn more interesting facts about Small-Town Holidays in Sweden as we explore Small-Town Holidays Around the World throughout the participating businesses in Chelan and Manson.
The Manson Chamber of Commerce will have a Take-n-Make craft Swedish paper woven basket tree ornament available as well as Swedish Ginger cookies.
Our window display will be host to several ornaments and symbols used during the Swedish Holidays and the traditional significance unique to this country.
