Paul Budrow has spent his life showing up for others. He happened to be in New York City on September 11, 2001, training law enforcement officers — and though he had no professional obligation to stay, he did, spending six days in the ash and toxins of Ground Zero to protect people and property. He later served the Twisp Police Department and went on to become Okanogan County Sheriff before returning home to Twisp. Together, he and his wife, Aimee, have twelve children — six of them adopted through foster care — with five still school-aged and living at home. About a year and a half ago, Paul was diagnosed with leukemia. Today he is battling two secondary cancers, believed to be tied to his time at Ground Zero. As treatment continues, the costs keep climbing — frequent travel, overnight stays, lodging, meals, and prescriptions, on top of a family vehicle that now needs repairs. After your yoga class, experience Manson Growers cherished local farming tradition by crafting your own custom apple cider blend! Get a group together and reserve a spot for your 1-hour session where you will press your hand-picked apples and leave with 10 half-gallons of pure, delicious cider. Or, chill out in their lovely cafe to enjoy perfectly brewed coffee drinks, grilled paninis, or a variety of snacks and ice-cream. Their space is a great place to hang out and relax! During Chelan’s Family Trick-or-Treat, businesses in Historic Downtown Chelan open their doors to little ghouls and goblins, handing out candy and goodies along the way. Downtown comes alive with costumes, laughter, and plenty of small-town charm. Woodin Ave. and S. Emerson are closed to car traffic, and the Lions Club will be on hand providing traffic control to keep everyone safe during this spooky Chelan tradition.
